Prepping for 2011!!!

So...........In the middle of trying to get a house built, pay for Christmas, pay for snowmobiling and racing, and of course............work itself, I have been trying to get the trailer ready for racing so I don't have to spend the kids inheritance on hotel stays. Needless to say, I should have started earlier this year so I didn't have to begin my ordeal just trying to figure out how to get to the trailer. It's coming along good though, and should be a cozy home-away-from-home before too long. I'm really hoping this will help get Rosa and the kids to a few more races. It's been pretty hard to coordinate things, but with her new schedule and hopefully some fresh amenities in the trailer things will work out more often.

This was after the storm a week before Thanksgiving. Although I was thankful for all the snow, it only got worse after it snowed a couple more times.
Midway through digging 'Big Blue' and 'Little Blacky' out of their snow prison. Big thanks to the boss for letting me play with the skidster for a couple days. Very beneficial all-around.

The shop area. Most of the work here is outside trailer lighting. I am going to put more cabinets, a work bench, lights/outlets and a stereo system in as well.

The 'Living Quarters' project. New insulation, paneling, lighting/outlets, cabinets, and whatever else I can find $$$ for. It's nice for lounging, watching movies, changing clothes, etc... Still working on the whole 'where we going to put the chitter idea' ;)

The start of the insulation. After doing the walls and ceiling, and a nice layer of carpet/pad on the floor we should be able to wear shorts and t-shirts in this little sauna. Windows are in the future, but just couldn't pull it off with such short time and small resources. Oh, well....

I'll keep posting pics as I progress. Racing isn't too far away which is good and bad. At least the sled is ready to rock and the snow is falling. Everyone's healthy and we still have jobs to be able to enjoy the things we love. Doesn't get much better than that!!! Pray for SNOW!!!!!

Thank You Sponsors - 2010

Another quick update. Instead of posting a bunch of short clips from the season, here is what I finally put together for highlights and sponsor promotion. Make sure you click the links on the side bar and check out my sponsors. I couldn't put the race season together without all the help I get from them.

2010 Sponsor Highlight Video

Update

Well, summers are pretty slow around here, but we still get around to some of the race locations. Here are a few pics of Pebble Creek Ski Area, host of the 'Mogul Madness Snowmobile Hillclimb' (tentatively scheduled for April 1-2, 2011). Starting to get things ready for the 2011 race season. Hopefully the new website will be up and running creating another way for sponsors, fans, and anyone else to stay informed of what is happening. I will keep posting as the season get closer. PRAY FOR SNOW!!!!!!

Beaver Mountain - Season Finale

Well, this is it. Beaver Mountain Utah. Season finale for 2010 and we FINALLY have some news to 'brag' about for this year. Things could not have gone too much better for me at this race. I am stoked about the way I rode and how the sled rode. Qualified in stock and mod, and missed out by 2 spots in improved after almost missing a gate. Frustrated that I didn't get all 3 but at least I'm riding in finals to end the year. I ended up finishing 7th in stock and 13th in Mod which is great for points going into next year. I will post some videos in my next post for everyone to enjoy. Unfortunetly Bryan is out with injuries and Chad didn't qualify in any of his classes so that sucks

PEBBLE CREEK - Mogul Madness Hillclimb

GGRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow this year is starting to look a lot like last year. Although we started off great the first two races things are just getting ridiculous now. Pebble Creek....the hometown race.........the race that is turn the season back around..............the race I just couldn't get a solid run going AGAIN!!! Well, I will start with saying this is the first race I have ever rolled a sled on after wrecking. Pretty sure it came over at least two times before I got in front of it and got it stopped. Pretty frikkin frustrating to come back in Improved and bubble out of my heat and miss by 2 spots in mod. Chad got in improved and finished the weekend 10th overall in that class, but didn't make it in stock or mod. Hopefully the stars can align at Beaver for the final race. I need some spirit lifting before I have to sit around all summer.

Lost Trail Montania

Awwwww....... Lost Trail Montania! Well, with the inspiration we 'earned' through 2 tough days last year plans changed a little for this one. Not wanting to risk another fubbarred attempt at lodging the fam stayed home and me n' Cody just camped out in the gooseneck for the weekend. That was good except for the fact that we (I) forgot to fill up the gas for the generator and had to make a midnight run to Salmon. As far as a team effort we all came up short when all 9 runs were finished Saturday. We had a couple close calls only missing out by 1 or 2 spots but neither Bryan, Chad or me were able to make it to finals. All in all it was finally a weekend with awesome weather and AWESOME snow conditions. It was actually really relieving to finally race on snow the entire day. Here's a few pics to make it look like I was riding good at least ;)

Afton Challenge - Feb. 26-28

Well, not much to say about this race except I got my butt kicked. Virtually no snow and freezing cold temps made for a pretty boring weekend. Just couldn't get motivated to race and ended up not qualifying for anything. Luckily didn't break any parts on the body or the sled so that was good. The weather was nice except for being at least -4 F every morning we showed up.

Bear Lake Hillclimb - Feb 5-6

Well, Bear Lake is done. We all did better for the most part this weekend, but still had a fair share of 'oh crap' moments. Can't seem to get the bugs out quick enough but hopefully with Afton coming up the stars will align and results will be good. I qualified 3rd in my heat in Stock, and Chad qualified as well. We both screwed up and got stuck in the same spot during finals. Brian missed out in Stock and Mod, but got in Improved and finished 12th (I think). Chad was the only one to qualify in Mod and ended up finishing 12th. The sleds are running good we are all just trying to find some consistency before it's too late. Hopefully Brian can pull through his injury and make it to Afton. He provides a lot of support to the team. Both him and his brother Cory (161 - not racing this year due to a back injury from last season) are being held back by injuries, so the main focus is to make sure they heal up before pushing it too hard. Still trying to catch up with 'Slick' to get some videos posted, so keep checking back for updates. Here are some pics from the weekend.

Preston Pride Hillclimb - Jan. 22-23

Finished up with Preston, now it's time to gear up for Bear Lake (Feb. 5-6). The team did pretty well considering what happened during and before this race. I missed qualifying in Stock and Improved. Qualified 6th in Heat 1, and finished 11th overall in Modified. Brian (131) qualified in Stock and Modified, and finished 10th (stock) and 7th (mod) overall. Chad (141) didn't qualify but came back from a pretty nasty crash in Improved, and was able to run Mod qualifying after we replaced most of the front end of his sled. Here are some pics from this weekend. Hopefully I can get some videos posted before too long.
